How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 & I9300T -Install CWM Recovery

If you are going to Root your Samsung galaxy s3 then probably you know why rooting is so important to us ? & what are the dark side of rooting ? Still let me discuss it in short, rooting Samsung galaxy S3 will gain you superuser access. After rooting galaxy s3 you will be able to do whatever you want with your phone. Each & every android owner have a dream that his/her phone will allow him to play any HD Games on there device, but its not possible without rooting. Mainly there are 2 reason behind it, first of all 70% of HD games available in Google Playstore need root permission to run & second reason is lacks of performance & RAM. Requirement to root Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 or I9300t:

  1. Charge more than 65% (Power off while rooting may brick your device, so make sure to charge it fully)
  2. Backup all your important data like message, contact, etc
  3. Download Samsung Galaxy S3 USB Driver from here (Must)
  4. Download Odin from Here
  5. Download CF-Root ZIP to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 from here


How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 / GT-I9300t

1) First of all download the S3 driver from the requirement section, its a .exe file so after downloading double click on it to run the installation wizard. Try to install it on your pc root drive (i.e, C:/ driver).
2) After installing the driver, restart your computer. This is a vital step otherwise your pc may not recognize your S3.
3) Now turn on the USB debugging on your galaxy S3. (You can do the same by going to Setting > Application > Development > USB Debugging > Tick on the USB debugging box.)
4) Now download the CF-Root & ODIN flasher from above requirement section & place on your desktop. Extract the ODIN.zip on your desktop but don’t touch the CF-ROOT.
5) Then you have to Boot into Galaxy S3 Download mode, to do that Switch off your S3 > long press Volume down + Home key + Power key till you see the android logo on your S3 screen. After that release all the buttons & for once press the Volume UP key to enter into download mode.
6) Now open the ODIN.exe which you got after extracting the ODIN zip. Connect your phone to computer with USB cable. After connecting the ID:COM box in ODIN should turn Light Green. (If it doesn’t then check all the above steps again.)
7) In ODIN tick these following 2 boxes namely F.Reset Time & Auto Reboot. Leave all other boxes unticked.

8) Now find the PDA button on ODIN & tick the small check box beside it. After thatclick on the PDA button, a popup will appear so browse & select the CF-Root file from desktop which you have downloaded on step 4.

9) Now the final step, click on the START button on ODIN & it will start flashing that CF-ROOT files. Please wait patiently for about 10 to 15 minutes & don’t disconnect your device from pc.

10) First of all odin will install clockworkmod / cwm recovery on Samsung galaxy s3 when the installation will be over you will get a PASS! message on ID:COM box, still rooting is not complete so don’t touch your device. Now your device will automatically boot into CWM recovery mode, from there it will auto flash some SU binary & apps onto your S3 to root Samsung Galaxy S3 Gt-I9300 / I9300t.

[Note : If your s3 doesn't auto reboot to cwm recovery mode after 15 minutes of hitting the ODIN Start button, then you have to start the whole process from beginning.]

Now wait for few more minute your device will again reboot automatically, but this time your S3 will reboot normally like it used to reboot before.
